It's fun fact Friday. Did you know that if the Queen Bee is removed from the hive, within 15 minutes, the rest of the colony knows about it! Hmmm, the Southernmost Queen Bee can relate.

The Southernmost Queen Bee and her Best Drone enjoyed another Thursday afternoon at the Truman Waterfront Farmers Market. We had a surprise visit by some of our wonderful neighbors from Summerland. We are looking forward to meeting new friends next week.

It's only Tuesday and it's already been a fabulous week. We received a phone call Monday from a new friend living in Key West that saw a bottle of Southernmost Bee Local Raw Honey and wanted to know where he could purchase some. Of course, our first response was to join us Thursday September 11 at the Truman Waterfront Farmers Market. He decided to make to trek to Summerland this afternoon and purchased several bottles of our liquid gold. We got an opportunity not only to share our passion for honey, but we met a new friend and his beautiful fur baby.....truly a treat for us.
When we thought the day couldn't get any better, the Bee phone buzzed and a fellow Jalapeño Honey lover from here on Summerland Key sent a bee-utiful photo of Florida Keys Spiny Lobster paired with Southernmost Bees Jalapeño infused honey.
Poolside lobster dinner with the sun peaking out from the clouds. Pinch us, oops sting us because it doesn't get any better.

Celebrate National Honey Month. Southernmost Bees receives many inquiries with regards to Raw Honey vs Regular Honey.
Raw Honey is harvested straight Fom the honeycomb and then strained to remove dirt, wax and other debris before being bottled. Unlike regular honey, raw honey skips the pasteurization or filtration process, resulting in its signature cloudy appearance.

In Regular Honey, the filtration process that gives it that clear, consumer-friendly look and runny, drizzle-able texture also strips the honey of most of its beneficial byproducts like pollen, antioxidants, and enzymes. Most health benefits are found in raw honey. Processed regular honey tends to simply be used and seen as a sugar source.

Does Raw Honey Expire?
If you have a jar of raw honey in your pantry for a while, you might notice that it starts to solidify and crystallize. Have no fear-honey has no expiration date. Crystallization is is a totally normal reaction that won't make the raw stuff any less good for you. So, don't throw that bottle of honey away!
